We are One With Our Partners to Promote Cultural Exchanges
The Philippine-Italian Association is a founding member of EUNIC: European Union National Institutes for Culture - Cluster Philippines, a network of organizations dedicated to propagating cultural exchange between the Philippines and EU member states through cultural activities.
PIA's involvement and participation in various cultural exchange programs and cultural events promoted by the Embassy of Italy to the Philippines and the European Delegation to the Philippines have always been alive and active.
Throughout its 59 years of activity the PIA developed countless cultural projects with the help of the Italian Embassy, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the National Library of the Philippines, the Film Development Council of the Philippines, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and its Sentro Rizal, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines.
In 2019, the PIA signed an agreement with the Università per Stranieri di Siena (specialized in the teaching of Italian language to foreigners) to strengthen the teaching of Italian language in the Philippines, at the PIA and in partner universities.
In 2021, the PIA has become an exam center for the CILS (the Italian language proficiency Certificate of the Università per stranieri di Siena). In 2022, the PIA has signed agreements with Lyceum University of the Philippines Cavite and De La Salle University Manila to bring Italian language teaching to their respective campuses.
In 2021, the PIA has signed an agreement with the Patronato ACLI to better assist workers, pensioners, and migrants in the Philippines. January 2022 has opened a Patronato ACLI Manila in its own premises
